A National Emergency Management Agency spokesman said on Wednesday that 37 people had been pulled out alive, while eight bodies were recovered from the ruins.
Emergency crews on Thursday continue to search for the trapped people through the debris of the collapsed building.
The reason of collapse was unknown but this kind of incidents are common in the densely populated Lagos Island where buildings are constructed without official permission.
