Hyderabad: Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu apparently reacted to veteran producer-director Chittibabu's comments about her career and her latest release Shaakuntalam's box office perfomance. Shaakutalam was reportedly struggling at the box office on Tuesday morning, and on top of it, Chittibabu criticized the actor after the movie's failure. In response to that, Samantha seemingly posted a picture of herself along with a verse from the Bhagwat Gita about karma.
Sharing the post on her Instagram handle, Samantha could be seen seated in her car and lost in thoughts. She captioned the post as "Karmanye vadhika raste, Ma phaleshu kadachana, Ma karma phala he tur bhuh, Ma te sangotsva karmani (You have a right over your actions, not their results because we have no control over them. Let's not do work motivated by the fruit and let's not get attached to it. However, that does not imply that we should do nothing.)

According to reports, Shaakuntalam is having trouble surpassing Rs 10 crores at the box office. Only Rs 60 lakhs have been made by the Samantha-starrer movie on the fourth day at the box office. Reportedly, Shaakuntalam has nett earnings of Rs 6.25 crore in India and is likely to incur losses. It is reported that the movie is made on a budget of Rs 65 crores.

Meanwhile, during an interview with the media, Chittibabu alleged that Samantha's career as a "star heroine" has come to an end and that she is now using "cheap tactics" to promote her films. He further alleged, "Samantha did the item song Oo Antava in Pushpa The Rise following her divorce. She did it for financial reasons. She is accepting any offers she receives after losing her status as a star heroine. Her role as the heroine is over, and she will never be back to stardom again. She should continue her journey by accepting the offers she receives."
