In barely three days, Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan Part 2 touched the Rs 150 crore mark at the global box office. With these figures, the multi-starrer is slated to dominate the box office in the coming days.
The film opened to mixed reviews with an ensemble cast of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Karthi, and Jayam Ravi. The movie is doing exceptionally well at the foreign box office in addition to the home box office as is evident from the numbers the film is able to mint in just three days.

Trade expert Ramesh Bala in his tweet confirmed that the epic drama made Rs 150 crore in three days of its release. The film now awaits the response of viewers during weekdays after a successful run on the weekend. In the international market, the movie is doing exceptionally well in North America.
Vikram-Aishwarya Rai's epic drama is receiving a terrific reaction. The movie minted more than $3 million (about Rs. 24 crore) in just three days. Mani Ratnam is the director of the historical fiction film Ponniyin Selvan. The popular Tamil literary novel of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy is the source material for the movie.
It traces the development of the Chola prince Arunmozhi Varman into the legendary monarch Rajaraja I. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Karthi, and Jayam Ravi play the lead characters in the high-budget movie. Ponniyin Selvan was broken into two sections and made concurrently even though it was initially planned to be a single movie.
