Hyderabad: Superstar Salman Khan returned with his Eid release after a hiatus of four years with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Khan's latest release has opened with double-digit but the numbers are nowhere near to his last Eid release Bharat. Going by the reports, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan witnessed a slow start on its opening day. The film which boasts of a huge ensemble fell short of the Rs 15 crore mark on day 1 at the box office. The film is said to have done comparatively well in the mass circuits than the multiplex chains.
According to early estimates, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is expected to rake in between Rs 13.75 crore to Rs 15 crore on its opening day. Salman's previous Eid release Bharat had managed to open with a staggering Rs 42.30 crore while KKBKKJ day 1 early reports look less exciting. According to Sacnilk, occupancy in the Hindi market was recorded at just 15.33%.
After Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's Pathaan, Salman's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan was perceived to be another game-changer tentpole release for the Hindi film industry. The film has garnered mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Now it will be interesting to see if the festival season adds to the momentum over the weekend.
