Hyderabad: The Salman Khan film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan was released at a time when no other Hindi film was dominating the box office, and after a week in theatres, the film's nett domestic collection has now touched Rs 90.15 crore. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 3.5 crore on its seventh day in theatres. The figures aren't bad, but for a Salman Khan release on Eid, better numbers were expected.
KKBKKJ, directed by Farhad Samji, is yet to surpass the Rs 100 crore gross mark in the domestic market, while the total global gross collection stands at Rs 141 crore. With no other major Hindi film releasing this week, Kisi Ka Bhai Ki Jaan has a better chance of redeeming itself.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, directed by Luv Ranjan and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, finished its first week with a total revenue of Rs 92.84 crore, which is just a little bit more than what the Salman Khan movie managed to bring in. The other high-budget movie of 2023, Pathaan, finished its first week with Rs 378.15 crore in revenue.
Over the course of its opening weekend, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan managed to earn a respectable total of Rs 68.17 crore. Even though it initially appeared unlikely that Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan would surpass Pathaan as the highest-grossing Hindi movie of the year, the movie now faces challenges in even exceeding TJMM's lifetime domestic total, which is currently Rs 148.13 crore.
