New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was formally elected as the leader of the NDA, in a parliamentary board meeting on Saturday. Two days after the BJP-led NDA got an overwhelming majority in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls PM Modi acknowledged the support and cheers from newly-elected 353 MPs as a leader of the NDA.
He also addressed the MPs of NDA here on Saturday.
The council of ministers led by PM Modi submitted their resignation on Friday which was accepted by President Ram Nath Kovind and claimed to form a new Government.
Arjun Munda, former Jharkhand Chief Minister and BJP MP, was also present in the Central Hall of Parliament, he said that the entire country supported PM Narendra Modi. As NDA won more than 350 seats in which NJP managed to win more than 300 seats.
About his victory in Khunti of Jharkhand Munda said, "I thank the voters and I will work for the development of Khunti"
He said that in the 17th Lok Sabha elections, NDA did well in Jharkhand. NDA won 12 seats out of 14 seats in which BJP won 11 seats on its own.
On the question of becoming a Union Minister in the government, he said that this is completely on PM Narendra Modi, the NDA has to decide on who will become the minister, I will not say anything on this now.
