Alliance government must solve issues internally says: Bihar Congress Chief

Seeing differences on the issue of implementing Nation Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state, Bihar Congress Chief Madan Mohan Jha suggested the alliance government, solve the issue internally as it gives the wrong message to the public.

New Delhi: After the BJP and Janta Dal-United (JDU) opposite demand over the issue of implementing National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state, Bihar Congress Chief Madan Mohan Jha suggested the alliance government, to cooperate and solve the issues internally.

During a conversation with ETV Bharat, the state party chief said, "Whatever the issues arise in the party, it must be solved immediately, as the communication gap between the party leaders depict differences of working culture in the party. Ultimately, it gives a wrong message in the minds of the public ."

Jha also added that the law and order in the state in its worst position. So, the leaders must have a discussion on such matters rather than debating on the issue of NRC.

In Bihar, BJP demands to conduct a survey like NRC as the districts which share borders with the neighbouring countries allow illegal migrants to enter into the country, very easily. Whereas, Nitish Kumar's party JDU says that there are no such issues of illegal migrants in the state.

What is NRC?

The NRC in Assam is basically a list of Indian citizens living in the state. The citizens’ register sets out to identify foreign nationals in the state that borders Bangladesh.

The process to update the register began following a Supreme Court order in 2013, with the state’s nearly 33 million people having to prove that they were Indian nationals prior to March 24, 1971.

The updated final NRC was released on August 31, with over 1.9 million applicants failing to make it to the list.
