New Delhi: Punjab Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla speaking to ETV Bharat said, "Punjab Congress MPs are standing firm with the farmers protest since Day 1. No other party has come in support of this protest. The farmers should also question the SP, BSP and TMC, whether they are in favour of this protest? This is a matter of concern. These Opposition parties are calling it a national protest, then why aren't they supporting it?"
He further asserted, "Those people who are supporting you, should be appreciated. But they are continuously opposing us. When Kerala MPs go there to support the protest, they were welcomed but when Punjab MPs make efforts, they are being opposed. Why so? This is wrong."

This statement by Aujla comes after the protesting farmers had alleged Opposition parties of having "failed" to fulfill their responsibilities to make pressure upon the Central Government repeal these laws. "Congress is always supporting farmers. Rahul Gandhi ji also led a tractor yatra in support of the farmers agitation. There was just one message to the Central Government that it has to take back these three black laws," Aujla said.
"These laws are for the benefit of 3-4 capitalists. Government will only speak for them. So, their statement doesn't matter. We will continue our struggle till Center repeal these three farm laws, which it will have to do eventually," the Congress MP added.

It is known that the Opposition parties have been continuously raising this issue in the Parliament. While the protesting farmers are conducting a 'Kisan Sansad' at Jantar Mantar, the Congress has been protesting demanding a repeal of the three farm laws.
However, the Central Government still claims that the three farm laws will benefit farmers and that it will bring revolutionary changes in the agriculture sector, while making it clear that it was ready to hold talks with the protestors, except on the demand of the repeal of these laws.
