New Delhi: Vishva Hindu Parishad's national spokesperson Vinod Bansal on Tuesday slammed the Kerala government for its politics of Muslim vote bank appeasement, instead of stopping illegal slaughter of cattle. The Supreme Court having taken cognizance of the issue had slammed the Kerala government for having announced three days lockdown relaxation in the wake of Bakrid celebrations. The top court observed that the order was alarming and presented a regretful state of affairs. He should stop illegal slaughter of cattle, instead of trying to please his vote bank, Bansal further added.
At present, Kerala has the highest rate of corona infection in the country, with the government figures showing a positivity rate of 11% and the number of active cases at more than 13,000. On the other hand, with a positivity rate of less than 1 percent and the number of active cases at around 1300, the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has decided to postpone the Kanwar Yatra, following Supreme Court's orders, the VHP leader added.

Vinod Bansal further said that he hopes people will encourage the work that should be done to protect the cattle instead of slaughtering it. He also expressed surprise over not being able to witness the presence of PETA that usually advocates about the protection of animal rights and their right to life, during these times, when cows are slaughtered. "We request all the governments looking after the law and order in the entire country that there should be a complete ban on illegal slaughter of animals and other illegal activities under the guise of Bakrid," the VHP spokesperson said, adding that Bajrang Dal and VHP workers are ready to assist the police and the administration whenever required.
