Villagers rescue partially buried baby in Madhya Pradesh

Police investigating the case in Chhindwara district said the baby might have been abandoned by its parents who were in a possible illicit relationship.

Chhindwara (Madhya Pradesh): A newborn baby was found partially buried and the site was concealed with a large stone in Madhya Pradesh, reports said. Children playing nearby alerted the villagers who saved the baby in Chhindwara district.

Shocked villagers rushed the baby to a hospital where it was put on oxygen support. Reports said the child had been bitten by ants and one of its hands appeared to be crushed by the weight of the stone. Doctors at the Primary Healthcare Centre, who attended to the baby, said they removed soil from its mouth and nose.
