Hospital confirms actor Sanchari Vijay has died

Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru confirmed that actor Sanchari Vijay died at 3:34 am on Tuesday, June 15 after he was involved in a motorcycle crash on Friday in Bengaluru.

Bengaluru: Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru confirmed that Kannada actor Sanchari Vijay has died after he was involved in a motorcycle crash on Friday. He was a pillion rider and was not wearing a helmet, reports said.

Vijay is a national film award winner and a prominent face in the Covid-19 relief activities in Bengaluru. The hospital in a statement said 'Sanchari Vijay expired today, June 15 at 3:34 am,' He had shown signs of brain failure, as per the medical bulletin issued by the hospital on Monday.

Earlier, Vijay was being treated in Neuro ICU with all life support, and though his heart rate and blood pressure were stable, neurologically, he was deeply unconscious and showed signs of brain failure. Vijay's family had given their consent to donate his organs. "The national awardee's family said that the actor always has the intention to serve society, that's the reason we have decided to donate his organs. "This would let his soul rest in peace," said his family member.

His friend is also admitted to a city-based hospital where his condition is said to be critical.

"The final rites of National Award-winning actor Sanchari Vijay will be held with Police honours. I am thankful to his family, who came forward to donate his organs, I offer my condolences to talented artist Sanchari Vijay," tweeted Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa.

Meanwhile, people are paying their last respects to actor Sanchari Vijay at Ravindra Kala Kshethra. His mortal remains will then be taken to his hometown and the last rites will be performed later.
