Ajmer (Rajasthan): Three people including Jailor of Central Jail, Ajmer were arrested for providing facilities to the prisoners, said Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Thursday.
According to the reports, Jailor Yashwant Singh tortures the prisoners and demands extortion money in return for providing facilities to the prisoners.
During the investigation, they accepted to providing cigarettes, pan-masala, and mobile phones to the prisoners. For this, they charge a hefty amount of Rs 1500 to 20,000 from a single prisoner.
ACB in charge Paras Kumar said that they demand the desired amount in a bank account which is registered in the name of a private employee working in the jail. They earn a huge amount of Rs 25 lakhs in a month, added Mr. Kumar.
Earlier, in a similar case, nine persons including a jailor were arrested in Jaipur Central Jail in July.
