Hyderabad: Walmart India, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Walmart Inc., opened first B2B Cash & Carry store in the city of Karimnagar, making it the second in the State of Telangana and the 24th “Best Price Modern wholesale Store” in the country on Wednesday. This store is the first one in the State after Walmart India became a fully owned subsidiary of Walmart Inc.

The president and CEO of Walmart India, Krish Iyer, along with IT Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad inaugurated the store. Spread over 50,000 square feet, the store would provide direct and indirect employment to 2,000 persons and would sell about 5,500 products.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Iyer said they have signed an MoU with the Telangana government to open 10 stores in the State. Besides the current stores in Hyderabad and Karimnagar, three more stores would be opened in Warangal and Nizamabad in the coming days. “We are planning to open a second store in Hyderabad in a year,” he added.
