Security Forces defuse 'IED-like' object on J&K road

Traffic on the Krishna Ghati road in Jammu and Kashmir was restored on Tuesday after the security forces said they had defused an improvised explosive device (IED) like object.

Jammu: Security forces on Tuesday restored the traffic on the road in Krishna Ghati sector of the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir after defusing a suspicious IED-like object.

A steel box with a wired system was lying near a culvert at Krishna Ghati road was detected and the traffic was suspended when the Security Forces confirmed it as Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Monday.

The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused the object on Tuesday morning without any damage, following which the traffic was restored.
