New Delhi: Delhi Police Crime Branch has launched an investigation into a viral handwritten note, a photo of which was posted on "Harmeet Singh's FB account" in connection with National Conference leader Trilochan Singh Wazir's murder. Investigation on accused Harpreet's family in Jammu is also ongoing, as per sources.
Triggering a row, the Facebook post in suspect Harmeet Singh's account surfaced including a confession letter revealing that Singh allegedly murdered Wazir. The letter also said that Singh is going to commit suicide. The letter narrated how the murder was committed. It is yet to be ascertained that the letter was uploaded by Harmeet Singh or not.
Earlier on Friday, Delhi Police had launched search operation to nab Harpreet and Harmmet. As per police, murder was planned earlier and the flat in which the murder happened was rented in January. The landlord was informed that the flat would be vacated on September 10.
Wazir was going to Canada after the birth of his granddaughter. Harpreet Singh introduced himself as a journalist to Wazir and requested him for an interview for his newspaper and website, as per police.
Wazir met Harpreet in Delhi and he had made a video call to his wife during which Harpreet was present with Wazir. Wazir's decomposed body was found from a flat in Delhi's Basai Darapur on September 9.
