New Delhi: Underworld don Rajendra Nikalje alias Chhota Rajan was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences after his health suddenly deteriorated on Tuesday. He complained of stomach ache while imprisoned in Tihar jail.
Jail officials said Rajan was infected with Covid-19 a few months ago and the stomach ache could be the side-effect. Doctors will examine Rajan and reveal the details, said officials.
As mentioned earlier, Rajan was admitted to AIIMS on April 24 after testing positive for Covid-19. He was discharged on May 11, after 18 days of treatment, sent back to Tihar jail.
After getting arrested from Bali, Indonesia in 2015, Rajan was deported to India. He has been lodged in Tihar jail in Delhi since then. In 2018, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of journalist J Dey in 2011.
