Two tourists from AP die, more than 12 injured in Udaipur bus mishap

Two persons were killed and more than a dozen injured when a minibus carrying tourists from Andhra Pradesh met with an accident on the Udaipur Pindwara highway in Rajasthan. Seventeen members of a family were travelling in the bus when the accident took place. A man and his daughter died on the spot, police said.

Udaipur (Rajasthan): The ill-fated bus carrying 17 members of a family from Andhra Pradesh met with an accident late on Friday night. A man and his daughter died on the spot while more than a dozen were critically injured and they have been undergoing treatment at a hospital, police said. The mini-bus carrying passengers collided with a stationary trailer late on Friday night. The accident occurred near Aakiyawad on the Udaipur Pindwada highway. The deceased have been identified as Bharat, 55, and his 27-year-old daughter. Both died on the spot. At least eight critically injured passengers were rushed to a hospital, said police.

The impact of the collision was so powerful that two persons died on the spot and of the 15 injured persons, eight critically injured were referred to Udaipur hospital while seven injured passengers have been undergoing treatment at a local hospital. They were from Andhra Pradesh and had come to Rajasthan for sightseeing. The bus carrying tourists was coming from Abu Road when the accident happened, added police.
