New Delhi: Several Trinamool Congress MPs cycled to Parliament on Monday to protest against the rise in prices of fuel and other commodities, the party said. They also held a dharna at Vijay Chowk. The All India Trinamool Congress has given multiple notices under various Rules in both houses of Parliament on the opening day of the Monsoon Session, the party said. The issues on which notices have been given include price hike of diesel, petrol, LPG and other commodities, demand to repeal farm laws, the decline in economic growth, restoration of MPLAD funds and the alleged weakening of the federal structure by the government.

Braving the rain, they reached Parliament on bicycles from the Trinamool office on South Avenue to the main entrance of the Parliament building after which they raised slogans against the Central government. The Trinamool MPs have given notices in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on six issues -- two among them are issues pertaining to rising prices of diesel, petrol and LPG, and demand to repeal the acts on agricultural reforms. Hurdles in COVID-19 vaccine distribution, decline in the country's economy and boost to the MP Development Fund are among the other issues that they raised.
