New Delhi: Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda on Thursday said that the ministry is committed to the development of tribal people and is continuously working for the empowerment, employment and livelihood of tribals.
Launching the 'Covid vaccine with safe forest, wealth & enterprise' campaign on Thursday, Arjun Munda said, "This campaign symbolises that forest (environment/ nature) is ours. Wealth means how to make our lives better through its produce and enterprise means to empower ourselves through entrepreneurship. It means that Covid vaccination drive will run side by side keeping in mind the development of the tribals by promoting their health along with livelihood."

The minister said, "We also have to protect the lives of the tribal people and have to save them from Covid and its related complications." Ministry of Tribal Welfare in association with TRIFED, UNICEF and WHO has started this campaign which will connect over 50 lakh tribals with the vaccination camp.

The campaign aims to create awareness about Covid vaccination among tribals. It will also boost 'Van, Dhan, Vikas' centres, he added. "It will aware tribals that Covid vaccine is free and is available in nearby hospitals. Vaccines not only protect people from being hospitalized but also death and it will also help in continuing the livelihood activities," Munda said. He said that the ministry is trying its best to stop the third wave of Covid.
