1. Sonia Gandhi to invite Opposition leaders for dinner party

Congress president Sonia Gandhi plans to hold a dinner party for Opposition leaders including CMs of Opposition led state governments, sources say. The meeting is aimed to strengthen the unity among various political parties to take on the ruling NDA government.

Opposition leaders on Thursday took out a protest march towards Vijay Chowk from the Parliament demanding repeal of Centre's three farm laws and over the adjournment of the monsoon session of Parliament.

Budget carrier SpiceJet on Thursday said its passengers can now book cabs for airport transfer during their flight, using the airline's in-flight entertainment platform SpiceScreen. In the first phase, the new service will be available to passengers arriving at the Delhi airport, starting August 12.

A single day rise of 38,353 COVID-19 infections, 497 fatalities pushed India's tally of cases to 32,036,511 and death toll to 4,29,179, as per the data updated by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry at 8 am on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has succeeded in persuading Minister Anand Singh, who had expressed his displeasure for giving him the less lucrative tourism, environment & ecology portfolio.

Final year students of Mechanical Department at MIT College, Pune, have developed India's first driverless, autonomous, electric four-wheeler. The vehicle was first demonstrated at the college premises on Wednesday.
