1. SC adjourns hearing into Pegasus snoop gate to Tuesday

The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing into the Pegasus snoop gate to Tuesday. The bench asked the petitioners to serve a copy of the petitions to the Union of India and sought a reply from the government by next Tuesday.

1. Pornography case: Mumbai court rejects Raj Kundra's bail plea

The metropolitan magistrate court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of actor Shilpa Shetty's husband and businessman Raj Kundra and his associate Ryan Thorpe in the pornography case, stating that release of the accused will 'hamper the investigation' and the alleged offence is 'detrimental to the health of the society'.

India reported 42,982 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, as per the data updated by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry at 8 am on Saturday. The death toll climbed to 4,26,290 with 533 daily fatalities. The active cases stand at 4,11,076.

Home Minister Narottam Mishra, who was surveying the flood-affected villages in Madhya Pradesh's Datia district on Wednesday got caught in the floods and had to be rescued and airlifted. Two years after the abrogation of Article 370, the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir, especially in the Valley, has improved considerably, said IG CRPF Charu Sinha. In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, Sinha said fighting extremism is the biggest challenge in the sensitive Jammu and Kashmir.
