1. French govt agency confirms Pegasus hack

In a first, ANSSI, the French cyber-security agency has confirmed the presence of spyware 'Pegasus' on two journalists' phones, Mediapart reported on Thursday. The two journalists work for Mediapart, a French online investigative journal.  

2. CBSE Class 12 examination results today at 2 pm

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the Class 12 examination results will be out today at 2 PM and that they will be available on the board's official website 'cbseresults.nic.in', 'digilocker.gov.in' and the 'DigiLocker app'.

5. COVID-19: India records 44,230 fresh cases, 555 deaths

India reported 44,230 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, as as per the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Friday. The death toll climbed to 4,23,217 with 555 deaths, while the active cases in the country now stand at 4,05,155 with a recovery rate of 97.38 per cent.

1. Coronil controversy: Delhi HC to hear plea filed by against Baba Ramdev today

The plea by seven Doctors Medical Associations seeking a stay on the alleged false claims made by Baba Ramdev regarding Coronil is likely to be heard in the High Court today. Earlier on July 26, as Justice C Harishankar was on leave for the day, the hearing of the case was adjourned to Friday.

Pulitzer prize-winning Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui was not simply killed in a crossfire in Afghanistan, nor was he simply collateral damage, but was "brutally murdered" by the Taliban after verifying his identity, according to a report published in a US-based magazine on Thursday.

China on Thursday opposed the United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's meeting with the representatives of his holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Govt in Exile, in New Delhi

4. Drop in seats allotted to private schools under RTE quota

The number of seats allotted under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act (RTE) for poor students to study in private schools has witnessed a drastic decline every year, as per a report. Under the RTE Act, 25 percent of total seats are allotted to Primary Class in private schools on a yearly basis.

5. Suspected Pak drones noticed at 3 locations in JK's Samba

Suspected Pakistani drones were spotted hovering over three different locations in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Thursday. The flying objects were sighted simultaneously over Bari-Brahmana, Chiladya and Gagwal areas
