As many as 55 patients of black fungus who were undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Ujjain allegedly developed a reaction after hospital staff administered Amphotericin B Lipid complex to them on Thursday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched six customized crash course programmes for COVID-19 frontline workers on Friday through video conferencing under the Skill India scheme. According to the Prime Minister's office, under the Customized Crash Course programme, the government will start 111 training centres spread over 26 states.

The Calcutta High Court on Friday adjourned hearing to June 24 in West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's petition challenging the election of Leader Of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari from Nandigram. The matter was mentioned by Banerjee's lawyer before the court of Justice Kaushik Chanda as per the list for hearing.

2. Allahabad High Court denies protection to live-in couple

The Allahabad High Court has dismissed the protection plea of a live-in couple, noting that the woman was already married and in a live-in relationship with another man.  

3. Minor kids live with father's corpse, go to neighbour for food

In a shocking incident, two minor children, aged 8 and 6 years, stayed in their house with their father's body for two days simply because they could not understand what had happened to him. On the third day, the children -- a boy and a girl -- went to a neighbour's house asking for food and said that they were hungry and their father "was not talking to them".

4. Aligarh: Neighbours deny 'starving family' narrative, say they offered help

After a report surfaced on Wednesday from Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh district that a woman along with her five children was battling intense hunger for over two months, her neighbours said that they tried to extend help to the family but the woman never opened the door of her house fearing Covid-19.

1. India records 62K fresh Covid cases, 1,587 deaths in 24 hrs

With 62,480 new coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India's total tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 2,97,62,793, while the death toll climbed to 3,83,490 with 1,587 fresh fatalities, the lowest in 61 days, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.

2. Ghaziabad assault case: Police slap legal notice on Twitter India chief

Ghaziabad Police sent a legal notice to the Managing Director (MD) of Twitter India Manish Maheshwari over a viral video showing an elderly man in Loni being assaulted. The notice has been issued under Section 160 of CrPC.

A Pakistani drone spotted hovering over Dera Baba Nanak town in Punjab's Gurdaspur district, returned to Pakistan as soon as the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel opened fire at it. At around 4.40 am, the 10th battalion of BSF personnel deployed at the Punjab Border heard the Pakistani drone and fired seven rounds of bullets at it.
