The Union Cabinet has approved the Ministry of Defence's proposal for extension of the Central deputation tenure of Nazli Jafri Shayin, Joint Secretary, Department of Defence for a period up to December 29, 2021. The cabinet has also approved extension in Central Deputation tenure of Vivek Bharadwaj, Additional Secretary, Department of Home, Minister of Home Affairs for a period of one year up to October 23, 2021, until further orders.

6. Bring back Indian women stranded in Oman, urges Amritsar MP

Amritsar MP Gurjit Singh Aujla on November 24 urged the Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar to take steps for the repatriation of women stranded in Oman. He said around 24 women were living in poor conditions as the Indian Embassy in Muscat failed to help them. He added that these women had gone to Oman as domestic help in search of livelihood and that he had written to the MEA in June and October, but he had not got any response.

Israelis are holding ceremonies to pay respects to the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, demanding that the perpetrators of the carnage be brought to justice and condemning "Pakistan-sponsored terrorism." Israelis and Indian students and caregivers paid respects to the victims in Jerusalem, Rehovot and Tel Aviv on Wednesday and ceremonies are planned in Beer Sheva and Eilat on Thursday.

New Zealand Member of Parliament (MP) Dr Gaurav Sharma on Wednesday created history by becoming the first parliamentarian of Indian origin to take oath in the Sanskrit language on foreign land. Dr Sharma, who hails from Himachal Pradesh, was recently elected as an MP from the Labour Party in New Zealand.

A day after a BJP leader said that they would conduct a "surgical strike" on the old city of Hyderabad to "weed out infiltrators" if the party wins Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Assaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday said that if Pakistanis are there, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are responsible.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested a close aide of Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik named Amit Chandole, in an alleged money laundering case related to private company Tops Security. Chandole, who is the promoter of Top Securities Group, was arrested after the ED conducted searches at around 10 places in Mumbai and Thane on November 24 including Top Securities Group promoters and some politicians.
