Kulgam (Jammu & Kashmir): A group of suspected militants has opened fire on a BSF party today afternoon in Malpura Mir Bazaar Qazigand. According to sources close to the development, the suspected militants indiscriminately opened fire on the BSF party on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway which was on patrol duty.
It is learned that the attackers have holed up in a nearby building. The security forces at the site have cordoned off the building. A gun battle between the forces and attackers is underway and the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has been closed after this incident.
According to Kashmir Zone Police, more troops of Central Reserve police Force and local police have reached the spot for back up.
