Srinagar: Militants lobbed a grenade on CRPF personnel at Rainawari chowk in the city on Wednesday but there was no damage done due to the explosion, officials said here.
"We are still ascertaining the fact whether it was a grenade or something else," CRPF spokesperson told ETV Bharat.
He, however, added that no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.
The ultras lobbed the grenade at a mobile security checkpoint set up by the CRPF at Rainawari in the old city, they said.
The officials said the grenade exploded by the roadside without causing any damage.
Meanwhile, the entire area has been cordoned off by the security forces and a search operation launched to track down the attackers.
