Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) Tuesday sent the mobile phone of the suspected spy accused of leaking Army details to Pakistan's ISI to the Forensic Science Laboratory Division.
The CCB has taken Jitender Singh into 12 days of police custody.
Jitender, a suspected spy from Rajasthan has been arrested in Bengaluru on charges of sharing photographs and details of vital installations in Bengaluru with his handlers in the Pakistani intelligence agency, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Rajasthan-based Jitender Singh came to Bengaluru in 2018 and worked as a garment seller in the city. He was arrested in the joint operation by the Southern Command Military Intelligence, Bengaluru and the Central Crime Branch of Bengaluru at Jolly Mohalla area in Cottonpet in the city on Sunday.
Jitender used to share details of Rajasthan's Barmer Military Station to ISI by wearing the uniform of Army Commando. He was posing as an Army officer to carry out these tasks.
According to the police, he had provided photographs of Barmer military station and reported the movement of military vehicles from that area to his handlers across the border.
