Bengaluru: The Brigade Gateway Apartment Owners Association (BGAOA) near Yeshwanthpur has installed a massive Solar rooftop on its apartment complex with 1,255 flats. This solar panel saves 69% of electricity. This solar rooftop power generation of 354 KW capacity set up at the Brigade Gateway Enclave, said to be the highest in the country among private apartments. It was inaugurated by Ashwath Narayana, Minister of Science and Technology of Karnataka on Saturday.
Speaking after inauguration Minister Ashwath Narayana said, "With this solar power rooftop, Brigade Gateway has put forward one more step towards becoming a sustainable enclave. In addition to the apartment already having water recycling and waste disposal management, now has moved further to become eco friendly by setting up solar power generation system".
"It is the largest electricity-producing apartment in India. It producing 354.4 kilowatts. The entire society should move in this direction to achieve sustainable development goals. Self Generation of Power is an important aspect towards realizing sustainable development. Any project or developmental work we undertake should not become a threat to the environment," he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of generating 100 Giga Watts of renewable energy in the country. Besides striving to contribute towards this, students will be sensitized about the importance of sustainable development as per National Education Policy (NEP- 2020), Narayana told.
RenXSol Ecotech Private Limited has developed this Solar rooftop with more advanced/sophisticated technology under the Green Initiative in Bengaluru. The same company has installed a Solar rooftop in Chinnaswamy Stadium earlier. This solar panel and solar inverters can last for 25-year long (25-year long-lasting panel).
"Brigade Gateway Apartment Association has taken a positive step towards becoming environmentally friendly. There are thousands of apartments in Bengaluru. Each apartment consuming more electricity every day. They can save 69 per cent of the electricity if they install solar rooftop under government guidelines", Srinivas Kumar, MD of RenXSol Ecotech said.
