While speaking to ETV Bharat after the meeting, Soren said, "We have successfully completed one year of JMM-Congress alliance in the state. This was a formal meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi."

Since this was a formal meeting, so nothing major issues were discussed. Rahul congratulated me for running the state on the field of development, added Soren.

When asked about today's meeting with Shah, Jharkhand CM seems disappointed as he said, "Months after taking oath for CM, coronavirus pandemic hit the country badly. Since then, we have been raising several issues like GST dues, coal royalty and DVC dues with the Union Home Minister through video conferencing. He is aware of the day to day development. Despite, the state has not received any major relief from the centre."

In October, last year, Soren wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and condemned the act of deduction of Rs 1,417 crore from the account of state with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in connection with the pending payment of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC).

In the letter, Soren said that the deduction had been made as per the three-party agreement but he was hurt by the act as during the pandemic the government should not have deducted the money.
