New Delhi: Security arrangements have been heightened at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj in Delhi after the Delhi Police denied permission to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) to organise a protest rally from Gurudwara Rakab Ganj sahib to Parliament today. Security personnel, wearing safety gears and armed with batons, have been deployed at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj sahib.
The protest has been called to mark the completion of one year of protest against three controversial farm laws.
Meanwhile, the talks between the police and the leaders of the Akali Dal are underway as police had denied permission for the protest, informed DCP Deepak Yadav.
The Shiromani Akali Dal had given a call to take out a march to the Parliament House at 11am on Friday and had sought permission from the Delhi Police. However, citing the Delhi Disaster Management Act (DDMA) Delhi Police had denied permission for the protest.
Meanwhile, the Metro Rail Corporation also closed Shriram Sharma and Bahadurgarh City Metro stations on Green Line for passengers. The passengers will neither be allowed to enter nor exit from the two stations.
