New Delhi: The Supreme Court has asked the Paralympic Committee of India(PCI) to recommend 5-time Paralympian shooter and Arjuna award winner, Naresh Kumar Sharma's name as an additional participant in a para shooter event in Tokyo Olympics which is scheduled to start from 24 August.
The bench comprising of Justice AM Khanwilkar, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Krishna Murari was hearing an urgent plea filed by Sharma challenging his exclusion, terming it arbitrary and biased.
The Delhi High court had also heard the matter and was in Sharma's favour but had not passed any orders, refusing to interfere.
The matter was mentioned by Sr Adv Vikas Singh today before the CJI led bench for urgent hearing and was heard by Justice Khanwilkar's bench at around 2 pm.
