New Delhi: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has informed the Supreme Court today that it won't be possible for them to conduct the upcoming CA exams online due to the format of the examination but they are strictly following Home Ministry's guidelines to avoid risk to students.
The bench led by Justice AM Khanwilkar was hearing a plea that sought SOP for CA exams which are scheduled to be held between 21st November and 14 December. In the last hearing, the judges had asked the petitioner to talk to ICAI counsel for the issue.

Today it was informed that they had an online discussion via video conferencing. ICAI told the court that they can't have separate isolation rooms for covid infected candidates as it will pose risk to others.
After hearing the arguments today the court directed the ICAI to release a press note and notify in their websites about the steps that they have or will be taking for the CA exams so that concerns of the candidates are addressed regarding coronavirus.
