Hyderabad: The Congress and the BJP on Saturday engaged in a mini-war of words on Twitter during which Sambit Patra, the national spokesperson of the BJP, referred to former Congress president Rahul Gandhi as Mr. Bean — the protagonist of a popular British sitcom.
Patra's jibe against the Gandhi scion came in response to the latter's tweet on the number of people vaccinated across the globe.
Earlier on Saturday, Gandhi had tweeted a graph comparing the top 10 countries that got its citizens vaccinated.
The graph shows that India has got only 1.4% of its citizens vaccinated.

The US tops the graph with 26.5% of people being administered the jab followed by the UK which has got 25.9% of its population vaccinated.
India stood ninth on the graph — below Italy, France, Germany, Brazil, Mexico and Indonesia.
"India needs #vaccine, Mr. Lying Machine! (sic)" Gandhi captioned the graph, apparently referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Lashing out at Gandhi, Patra replied, "Mr Bean, Not only your facts but your calculations too are wrong. 13.5 cr out of 132 cr is approximately 10% not 1.48 %," Patra stated, clarifying that as many as 13.5 crore Indians have been vaccinated.
"By the way have you got vaccinated ..err only if you are above 45 years of age?? (sic)," he asked Gandhi.
