Kolkata: There are frequent reports of factionalism in state units of BJP in West Bengal and Assam. Tripura is going for elections next year and the current political situation there is a bit complicated. So to streamline the complex situations in those states and to usher in discipline in the functioning of the BJP units in these three states, the RSS leadership is going to become pro-active in the coming days.

The RSS leadership will conduct a series of special workshops in these states to increase their footprint in the affairs of BJP.

RSS sources said that their leadership is quite worried about the manner in which the state units are functioning. "So it has been decided that from September onwards there will be a series of special workshops in these three states to identify the basic lapses in the organizational functioning of BJP. Once the organizational lapses are identified, the RSS leadership will take up the task of finding solutions to those problems," an RSS insider said.

It is learnt that following the election debacle in West Bengal, RSS has conducted several meetings to take stock of the situation. There had been changes in the Sangh leadership in West Bengal as well. The face of RSS in the state is now a Bengali, Ramapada Pal, who is now reshuffling the organizational structure soon after taking over the mantle.

RSS national leader, Pradip Joshi confirmed that several internal discussions on the situations in Assam, Tripura and West Bengal are going on. "The situation in these three states will be discussed in the special workshops. These are organizational issues and appropriate decisions will be taken time to time," he said.

It is learnt that following the direct instructions from RSS chief, Mohan Bhagwat, the Sangh leadership is keenly monitoring the current political situation in Tripura. With the state set for assembly polls in 2023, the RSS leadership wants full control over BJP's organizational network in Tripura.

On the other hand, in Assam, there had been reports of factionalism between the two groups of the current chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma and Sarbananda Sonowal. The RSS leadership also wants a quick solution to this face-off as well. So through these special workshops, RSS wants to send a strong message to the state leaders of BJP in Assam and West Bengal. They feel that unless the control of BJP's state units are not in the hands of RSS, then the situation will become similar to that of West Bengal. Even after forming the governments in Tripura and Assam, RSS was unable to fully control the BJP state units there.
