New Delhi: At a time when the entire nation is on a war footing with the spread of the COVID-19, Seva Bharati, a volunteer organization associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has taken up the challenge to all possible help to COVID-infected patients and their kin.
In the wake of this, a COVID Response Team (CRT) was launched on Saturday by the Seva Bharati, including several other social, religious, industry and NGOs.
The objective of the CRT will be to collect all kinds of resources related to the COVID-19 and provide them to the needy.
Addressing a virtual conference, Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh (Retd.), convenor of the CRD, said that apart from serving the needy amid this crisis, this team will also give necessary suggestions to the government on improving health services and other related topics.

Apart from this, the CRT also plans to make isolation centres with oxygen facilities, launch oxygen vans, provide Ayurvedic medicines to people at their doorstep and also help people in respectfully cremating the dead amid this pandemic, he added.
So far, with the initiative of the RSS and Seva Bharati, 500-bed isolation centres, a total of 7 oxygen vans equipped with oxygen beds, food distribution to 28,000 families, 803 plasma donations and 1,300 CT scans have been conducted.
Gen. Singh further informed that a total of 1,200 volunteers and teams of 130 doctors are rendering their services to the helpline issued by the CRT and so far 88,000 calls have come asking for help.
