Puducherry: After dismantling the democratically elected government in Puducherry days before the election, the BJP secured a victory in six out of nine seats it contested in the Assembly polls. The BJP reduced its ally AIADMK to a minor partner, which was once the dominant party in the union territory.
In fact, AIADMK formed the first ever government in Puducherry. On Sunday, it faced the worst ever drubbing, a complete rout in the union territory.
