Hajipur (Bihar): In a daring attack, a team of Bihar Police was attacked with swords when they had gone to arrest an absconding man who was wanted in connection with a dispute case in Mahua of Vaishali district in Bihar.
Seven policemen, including an SHO and an Inspector, were seriously injured who were later admitted to the hospital. The incident took place on Saturday evening when the police team reached Badanpur Milki village of Mahua police station area.
Mahua police had received information that a man wanted in a dispute case is hiding in the village. After this, a team of police along with police station head Krishnanand Jha went to arrest the man.
Before the policemen could arrest the criminal, the miscreants attacked them with sticks and swords.
"The absconding accused are being arrested in the pending cases. In this sequence, the team of the Mahua police station went to raid. Taking advantage of the darkness, the accused parties started throwing bricks and stones and wielding swords, due to which some of our jawans were injured. On receiving the information, the additional police force was sent to the spot. They also fired 5-6 rounds. After this more soldiers were called in. At the end, 13 people have been arrested in this case." said Poonam Keshari, SDPO, Mahua.
