Jaipur: A Pakistani national lodged at Jaipur Central Jail who was undergoing treatment at SMS psychiatric centre died on Monday. The deceased, identified as Mohammad Mustafa, was arrested in 2017 in Anoopgarh without a visa and a passport. According to reports, Mustafa was mentally unstable and was undergoing treatment for the same from a long time.
The transport Nagar police are preparing a report on Pak national's death and would inform it to the state home department to send it to external affairs ministry.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) East Abhijeet Singh said, "Mustafa was brought to Jaipur Central Jail from Anoopgarh jail in 2017. He was arrested without a visa and a passport. Mustafa had a mental disorder and was admitted to SMS psychiatric centre and he died on Tuesday."
Singh said, "The authorities have informed the state's home ministry department. A detailed report has also been sent to Transport Nagar police, DCP East who will further send the report to ADG (Crime). The police department will send the report to the state home ministry who will forward it to our Union external affairs ministry to be sent to the Pakistan embassy. If Mustafa's family members will come ahead for burial, then the body will be sent to Pakistan following all the protocols."
