Berhampur (Odisha): Even as COVID-19 is expanding its fatal footprint across Odisha and the country, hundreds of women, in blatant violation of the COVID-19 guidelines, took part in Kalasa Yatra to the sound of thumping music, carrying holy water-filled pitchers on their heads in a procession. They were participating in the installation ceremony of a temple at Krushnachhai village in Ganjam district.
The matter came to light after a video of the event went viral. The video shows the participants in the Kalasa Yatra without masks and maintaining social distance.
