No ambulance, father forced to carry daughter's body on bike

Unable to find an ambulance, a helpless father was forced to carry his daughter's body on a bike in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad district on Thursday. The girl had passed away due to dengue. There has been a rise in the number of cases related to dengue and viral fever in the state.

Firozabad (UP): In an incident that puts humanity to shame, a helpless father was forced to carry the body of his daughter who passed away due to dengue on a bike in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad. The issue came to light after the family members of the deceased took to protest and created a ruckus accusing the district medical college administration of negligence.

The girl was admitted to the Medical College on the 1st of September, but late at night on the following day, the girl died during treatment. Responding to the allegations made by the family members of the deceased, Sangeeta Aneja, Principal of Firozabad Medical College said that the matter was looked into and a vehicle was arranged, but the family in a haste had taken the body on the bike.

A total of 60 deaths were reported due to dengue and viral fever in the state of which 40 deaths have occurred in the urban areas alone. Firozabad district has been reeling with the dengue outbreak wherein mostly children, have been affected. Similar cases have also been reported from nearby districts of Mathura, Etah and Mainpuri.
