Maoist posters surface in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh): A bunch of posters allegedly put up by the banned CPI (Maoist) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the People’s Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA ) have surfaced in Visakhapatnam.

The posters were displayed in the areas around G. Madugula Mandal Maddi Garuvu.

Through the posters, Maoists have appealed to the tribals to participate in week-long celebrations and make it a success.

The Maoists have been observing the PLGA week from December 2 to 8, to condemn the killing of three Central Committee Members of the banned outfit Seelam Naresh, Nalla Adi Reddy and Yerramreddy Santosh Reddy, by the security forces in Koyyuru forest in Karimnagar district of Telangana, on December 2, 1999.

Meanwhile, seven Maoist militants surrendered voluntarily before the Koyyuru police station under CI Venkataramana, after the surrender of Maoist leader Gemmili Hari.

CI Venkataramana said the police department was ready to provide self-employment opportunities to those who left the Maoist party.
