Prayagraj (UP): The Central Bureau of Investigation, which is probing the death case of Mahant Narendra Giri, President of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, has filed a plea in the court seeking a nod to conduct a narco test of the three accused - Anand Giri, Aadhya Tiwari and Sandeep Tiwari. The hearing of the matter will be taken up on October 18.

The CBI, which is probing the suspected suicide case has not yet reached any specific conclusion and hence has sought the court's permission to carry out a lie detector test.

Usually, the Narco test without the permission of the court is possible only when the accused gives his consent for investigation, but in most cases, the accused do not give their permission. Therefore, the agency has to take permission from the court to move forward, while the court will allow narco tests only on the basis of the health report of the accused.

Meanwhile, Anand Giri's lawyer Vijay Dwivedi says that he will also talk to the three accused, who are currently lodged in jail and get their opinion. If Anand Giri and the other two accused want to get the Narco test done with their consent then it is fine, if not their lawyers will oppose CBI's application.

On Sep 21, Mahant Narendra Giri was found dead at his Baghambri Math ashram. Police had recovered 6 pages of suicide notes from the spot, in which his disciple Anand Giri, Adhya Tiwari and one other has been named. All three were taken into police custody for interrogation.
