Bangalore: Schools would reopen for students of classes 1 to 5 in Karnataka from Monday by adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.
Laying out guidelines for reopening of Classes 1 to 5, the Karnataka government had announced that all health precautions and protocols issued by the Department of Primary and Secondary Education should be strictly adhered to.
Parental consent for children to attend physical classes is mandatory. Only teachers and staff who are fully vaccinated with both doses for COVID-19 would be allowed in classes.
The state government has also laid down rules such as screening for COVID-19 symptoms on entry, 50 per cent of the capacity in a classroom, provision of hand sanitizers, physical distancing of a minimum of one metre as practically feasible, no crowding at school entry and exit, and disinfecting classrooms and restrooms daily.

According to an order issued by Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar on October 18, the current COVID-19 situation in the State was reviewed on October 17 by the COVID-19 Technical Advisory Committee, which, after taking into account decline in the number of daily and active cases, recommended opening up of more activities.
According to a health department bulletin, Karnataka on Sunday logged 388 fresh cases and five deaths. Bengaluru Urban accounted for the maximum number of 194 cases and four deaths.
