Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Government on Thursday decided to conduct the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Higher Secondary examinations in March. The exams will commence from March 17th and will end on March 30th.
The decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in which conducting SSLC and Higher Secondary examinations with COVID protocols were discussed.
The State Education Department would soon make all arrangements required for the conduct of the public examinations for the 10th and 12th-grade students.
Classes would begin in January for students who are preparing for the practical tests as part of the public examinations. Revision exercises and doubt clearance sessions would be facilitated at the school level, based on the online classes which have been conducted since June 1, 2020.

To avoid exam stress, professional counselling sessions would be held so that students can cope with the pressure. The students of classes 10 and 12 can visit their schools and attend counselling after taking permission from their parents. All these would be facilitated by making use of the existing teaching staff strength.
In Kerala, online classes have been going on for the secondary and higher secondary levels right from June 1 and would continue.
The classes for the final year Under Graduation (UG) and Post Graduation (PG) students would also begin from the first week of January. Only 50 per cent of students will be allowed to attend the classes. If required, the classes would be split into morning and evening sessions on a shift basis to maintain the COVID protocol.
The classes would begin in the first week of January 2021, after limiting the number of students attending the courses with the Fisheries University and the Agriculture University in the State. The classes for the medical students are to begin from the second year onwards, in Medical Colleges.
