Chemmangad (Kozhikode): Police arrested PK Navas, state president of Muslim Student Federation (MSF), over a sexual harassment complaint filed by 'Haritha', the women wing of MSF. Navas was later released after recording his statement.
The police have booked him under section 354 A of IPC for allegedly insulting the modesty of women.
Navas arrived at Chemmangad police station in Kozhikode on Friday as directed by the police. After recording his statement, Navas was arrested by the police.
Navas, who was later released on bail, said the news was unrelated to the facts and he would speak openly with the party's permission.
The women leaders had lodged a complaint with the district police chief alleging sexual harassment by P K Navas and Malappuram district general secretary V Abdul Wahab during a state committee meeting of the party that was held on June 22.
