Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir): Mudasir Gul, the 32-year-old artist from Srinagar, was on Monday released after being in custody for three days. He was arrested on May 14 for his graffiti work in support of Palestine.
"Gul was released on Monday without pressing any charges against him. He was counselled and allowed to go home," a police official said.

Gul had made a graffiti that read "We are Palestine" on a bridge in Srinagar's Padshahi Bagh area. The graffiti had gone viral on social media. According to Gul's family members, the police later forced him to black out his work.
"I made a graffiti in support of the Palestinians. If we can't express our feelings through our art, then what is the way out," Gul questioned after his release. "I am thankful to all those people who stood by me and campaigned for my release," he said.
On May 15, the police had booked 21 protesters who raised slogans against Israel in the backdrop of the Israel-Palestine war. Of these, 20 protestors were from Srinagar and one from Shopian.
