Bengaluru: While eyes are keen on newly sworn-in Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai over new Cabinet formation, ministry post aspirants have been flocking former chief minister BS Yediyurappa's residence. Intriguingly, MLAs M. P. Renukacharya, K. Madalu Virupakshappa, Basavaraj Dhadesuguru, Araga Jnanendra, Kumar Bangarappa and Munirathna and many others visited BSY's residence appealing for ministry posts.
Reportedly, Janata Dal (Secular), Congress defectors have been appealing to BSY for Ministerial seat. "We have come to BJP trusting you and contributed to the formation of the government. We should get a post in the Bommai government and discuss this with the high command," said one of the MLAs to BSY.
Chief Minister Bommai visited Yediyurappa's residence ahead of his tour in Uttara Kannada district. According to sources, Bommai discussed on the members to be nominated for the ministerial posts.
Even though no particular date of the ministers' induction has been announced yet, Bommai is likely to visit New Delhi tomorrow. Bommai, who was unanimously elected the leader of the BJP legislature party, took oath as CM on Wednesday.
Bommai is known as a close confidant of Yediyurappa. Sources also said many BJP members believe Bommai's assumption of office would be favourable for Yediyurappa. Bommai, reportedly, has amicable relations with party high command in Delhi as well as leaders of different communities in the party.
