Patna: Janata Dal (United) MLA Gopal Mandal’s son, Ashish Mandal, was arrested on Tuesday from the Tilkamanjhi police station area in Bihar's Bhagalpur in connection with the Barari shooting case.
At the beginning of December, a firing incident took place over a land dispute in the LIC Colony of the Barari police station area in Bhagalpur. Four people were also injured in the firing. The victim alleged that he had gone to get some work done on his land. Ashish Mandal and his associates reached there and started a fight. They also fired shots.
Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered against the JD(U) MLA's son and four others. After the shooting incident, a video also went viral of Ashish saying, “Mein apne baap ki tarah kisi se nahi darta (I'm not afraid of anyone, just like my father).”
“He has been arrested by our SIT team. He will be produced before the court and then, accordingly, further action will be taken,” ASP Shubham Arya, Bhagalpur, said, as reported by ANI.
