Rajouri (J&K): Two militants and three army jawans were killed near an army camp in Rajouri during a gunfight early morning on Thursday, informed police officials. Five army jawans were injured during the initial firing, out of which three succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment. One of the two soldiers receiving treatment is in a critical condition, though the other one was reported stable.
The deceased have been identified as Subedar Rajendra Prasad, Rifleman Manoj Kumar and Rifleman Lakshmanan D.
As informed by ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh, an exchange of fire was triggered at the army camp in Pargal in the Darhal area of Rajouri after some miscreants tried to cross the fence of the camp early this morning.
As soon as the exchange of fire took place, additional parties from the army's side were despatched for the location located 6 km from Darhal PS. As two of the militants got killed during the incident, five police officials were also injured and are currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
"2 terrorists trying to sneak into a post in the dark at Pargal Rajouri were detected and engaged by alert troops. The terrorists have been neutralised. 5 soldiers also suffered injuries and are being treated," said an initial statement from the Indian army.
