Jammu: Two suspected militants were killed in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir as the Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control, a defence spokesman said on Tuesday.
He also said that the militants tried to infiltrate into the Indian side on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. The spokesman said that two bodies of infiltrators were observed when reconnaissance was being conducted by a quadcopter adding that the area is being scanned further.
According to official sources, a group of suspected terrorists tried to enter into the Pukharni village of Laam in Naushera under the cover of darkness from across the border. At around 10 pm on Monday, a landmine resulted in an explosion. Noticing the infiltration bid, the Army swung into action and started a search operation after laying a cordon on Tuesday morning.
